    core i3-2100 ---amd phenom II X4 955 BE --which one is the best processor ! all the benchmarking website report that core i3-2100 is better, but according to the rule amd has better L3 cache,clock speed of 3.2 ghz, 4cores & this core i3-2100(3.1 ghz) is a dual core only , how it can beat a quad core. i know that sandy bridge arch is a better one but its hard to digest?

    Good question :-)
    As u said in theory, Quad Core 3.2 GHz is faster than Dual core 3.1 GHz.

    But practically, core i3 is faster. The reason is the sandy bridge architecture.

    In Intel Core series, intel added the memory controller inside the processor itself. Where as in AMD it is added in the Motherboard, this make a big performance boost.

    So AMD reduced all its price very much and working on an alternative to compete with Intel

    Also that is not the only reason, even AMD has implemented it.
    The way it is implemented and other Intel new features like integrating graphics controller inside the processor, hyper technology etc also improves the performance vastely

Kindly suggest me the best PC. Let me know why Intel not AMD. I need fastest computer for this purpose. I don't need monitor hard drive etc. I will use old ones.     1) GTX 560Ti - Rs.13,500
    2) 1GB Graphics Card is enough
    3) One 4GB RAM is enough, Rs.1,200
    4) Intel Core i7 2600 - 3.4GHz - Rs.15,000
    5) If u store lot of Movies and Games, 2TB will be better - Rs.4,000

    Also u dont need 12 GB RAM, as it will be of no use.

    Also SSD does boost ur performance much.

    Yes,4 GB is enough for any game. (If you do lot of parellel processing like video conversion, batch photo processing and play games at the same time, then u need lot of RAM)

    Processor : The best desktop processor at reasonable price is Intel Core i7-2600 3.4GHz - Rs. 15,000

    MSI P67A-GD55 is good motherboard,
    But I does not recommend it for two reasons

    1) Costly
    2) You don't need SLI for 50k PC. I recommend SLI only in 1Lak PC.

    So go for a cheaper one.

    Rs 20k or 25k is very less for gaming PC, you can build a config for it but u can play only at low resolution and low setting.

    Also AMD is better at that price range

    @balkeet, HP DV6 612TX looks like a decent laptop for gaming.

    But Note :
    Laptops are not powerful for high-end gaming, you can play at low-medium settings.

    5 years is too much even for desktops. (2-3 years max is fine)

    For Temp - you can use a good laptop cooler.

    HI Karthik - I got all the parts from Delta and assembled a computer. Came out very well. Very fast. Have installed Windows 7 on it. I also got a D-Link DWA 525 wireless network adapter but unfortunately it does not work. Have you had any experience with Wirless PCI network cards. Do you have any recommendations?

      If it is a desktop, u can simply connect to the modem, isnt?

      Also D-Link DWA 525 is supported in Win 7. Try updating the driver.

      If u still need a Wi-Fi adapter, go for cheap USB Wi-Fi Adapters.

    Hi karthik, am sort of on a tight budget for my new build so am a little confused between the i3 and the i5.I've decided on the gpu to be nvidia gtx 550ti but not sure on the cpu front cause i went through a few websites n they seem to be giving conflicting reviews on the usefulness of a cpu in gaming n stuff, so my question to u is as above, will the cpu matter if i install the aforementioned gpu ( geforce 550ti ) ?       CPU is not a big factor for gaming.
      - But Core i5 performs better in games
      - Also few games are CPU intensive (GTA 4, LA Noire)
      - If u r tight on budget go for i3, u wont miss a lot.

    Thanks for advising me in gpu. Before 1 year i asked about the gpu.
    i installed the gpu which u recommended. It is working properly.

    Now i am coming to the matter,
    For better gaming performance,
    i will update the windows drivers. Last time when i updated, the os(Windows 7 Ultimate) showed that it was not genuine.
    So, I am planning to buy an original os. My preference is Windows 7 Home Basic. Due to money shortage, i cant buy Windows 7 Professional.
    What are differences between Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Home Basic?
    Then i often play GTA 4 in my desktop. Will GTA 4 work in Windows 7 Home Basic ?

      yes it will work in Win 7 Home Basic.

      The Pro version has the below extra features
      1) Media center
      2) XP mode
      3) Home Group and Company Network
      4) Backup and restore

      You may not use these features.
      If possible go for Win 8

      Yes,full system backup & restore is available. But this is not a big feature, as there are free softwares available.

      Yes, GTA 4 will work in all Win 7 versions.
      All versions of Win 7 and Win 8 are good for gaming.

      Always buy from trusted source, flipkart is good.
      If you plan to buy Win 8, you can buy it directly from Microsoft website. But you need to download and install it.

    Actually i have a cpu which is very basic but now i need to upgrade it for gaming . pls help me out of this.
    i have a mercury cabinet. cd-dvd re writable, 500gb hard disk and 4gb ddr3 RAM apart from this i need some upgrades for a budget of 13000. . . pls provide me some configs
