Best way to escape from Mosquitos

Hi Guys,
I am residing at Chennai, India.
For many months I had problem with mosquitos, they came in hundreds. I was not able to sleep well at night.

I tried every thing like

  • Mosquito Repellents
  • Mosquito Coils
  • Mosquito Liquid Repellents etc..

I even found Mosquito Repellent software in the internet, funny isn't?

But later found out that the only best way to escape from mosquitos at night is to use Mosquito Nets.
Yes after trying all the above I tried Mosquito Net, it is just Rs 200.
No smoke from Coils, no smell from Mosquito Repellents.
No waste of money.
Now I can sleep well at night.

Just try this..

Windows 7 Photo Viewer Very Slow - Fix

Hi When I was viewing my photos with Windows 7 Photo Viewer, it was very slow, it was loading for every photo. Then I found a fix for it.

It is because of the Calibrated Color Profile created by Windows 7.
If you remove it every thing will be fine.

Follow these steps

1. Right Click on Desktop and select 'Screen Resolution'.

2. Then Select 'Advanced Settings'

3. Select the 'Color Management' tab  and press the 'Color Management..' button in properties window.

4. In the Color Management window, Select 'All Profiles' tab and scroll to 'ICC Profiles'

5. Select any profile with the name 'CalibratedDisplayProfile' and Remove it.

6. Thats it Close all open windows.

Now reopen the pictures folder, check the photos with Photo Viewer it will be lighting fast...
Coool........

Let me know, if this helps you :-)......

Delete folder history in the file explorer window in Windows 7

Hi All, In your Windows 7 you might have noticed that sometimes the folders which you have visted will be displayed in the Windows Explorer drop down, when you press the Drop Down button in the location bar.

To remove those entries you dont have to go to registry and edit something.
Simple. Right Click the location bar.

Then from the menu select 'Delete History'..
Thats it.. Every thing cleared...

Hope this helps...

Windows 7 Tips and Personal Review

I was using Windows XP for almost 6 Years, right from 2003.

When Windows Vista came out I tried it, but I dont want to switch from XP to Vista.I found that something was missing in Windows Vista.

So I didnt switch from XP to Vista.

Then Windows 7 came out, right from the day one every thing was good for it. It received positive reviews from almost every one.
So I decided to try it. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate in my machine, dual boot with Windows XP(Hoping I can Switch back to XP anytime).
Here I have listed some of the Windows 7 tips and features which I like very much.

(Note : I have switched to Windows 7 directly from XP, so some features I have mentioned here might be there is Vista also, which I might not know.)

Before I start here is my system specs
Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz, 45 nm
Motherboard : Intel DG33FB (G33 Chipset)
Memory : 3 GB DDR2 667 Mhz
Graphics Card : Palit 9800 GT, 1 GB DDR3
Hard Disk : 320 GB

My Windows 7 Review :

Installation is really fast:

I did a clean install of Windows 7 on one of my partition, it is lightning fast. My Windows 7 was ready in just 20 Mins...

Boots very fast:

First of all, really Windows 7 boots faster than XP and Vista. I personally tried it. I have installed all the programs I had in XP, still it boots very fast.

Shutdown is also fast:

Similarly Shutdown or sleep is also very fast. In my XP it will take more than 30 Sec to shutdown, but my Windows 7 shutsdown in 8 Sec. Really fast.

Superbar(New Taskbar) Rocks:

Windows 7's new taskbar is superb. At first you will miss the good old XP style taskbar, but in few minutes u will get used to the new taskbar.
You can pin your favourite programs and files to taskbar, it will be always there.
Right click on it will give you more options about the program.
Moving the mouse over the icons will give a thumbnail preview of the program.
You can even watch videos using this preview.

More details can be found here
http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/01/15/windows-7-superbar-overview

User Access Control(UAC) :
Now we can adjust the UAC settings to any one of the four levels available.

Action Center:
Windows 7 Action Center is a one stop place where you can find system maintenance information, security information and also troubleshoot problems if any.

New Search:
Windows 7 search is really improved and fast. Now your search result will include album name, artist etc.

New Themes:
There are lot of themes pre-installed, you can even install new themes from microsoft website.

Aero Shake:
When a window is shaken with mouse, all other windows will be minimized and the current window will be active on the screen. When the window is shaken again, they are all restored. This also has some eye candy.
DirectX 11:
Windows 7 is shipped with directX 11, if you have a directx 11 graphics card you can enjoy all the eye candy in games.
Windows 7 Tips and Trick :

Other important changes I noted:
When I want to switch from my Creative sound card to on-board sound card, the only thing I have to do is remove the wire and plug it, Windows 7 will automatically detect it and it will be ready for use, where as in case of windows XP I have to change all sound settings.

My Other Tips:

Delete Folder History - Windows 7
Windows 7 Photo Viewer Very Slow - Fix

Some useful shortcuts:

Win+Left/Right arrows: Dock the window to each side of the monitor
Win+Up arrow: Maximize the active window
Win+Down arrow: Minimize the window/Restore the window if it's maximized
Win+Space: All windows are made transparent so you can see the desktop
Win+Home: Minimize all windows but the current window

Excellent place for details about Windows 7
