    1. How about Q67 chipset, i am thinking buying motherboard(Intel® Desktop Board DQ67SW) based on that.

      ReplyDelete
    2. @Kevin
For normal home and office usage H67 is the best.
For gaming usage P67 is the best.

Q67(Intel DQ67SW) is a part of Executive Series.

Q67 has the below Advanced Technologies over H67/P67

Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed IO
      Intel® Trusted Execution Technology
      Intel® vPro Technology
      Intel® Active Management Technology
      Intel® AMT Version
      Intel® Anti-Theft Technology

You will never use the above options in your life.

Best to go for P67 or H67

      For more details check this

    3. One thing we should keep in mind that if we are purchasing any electronic part or computer part for any show our first condition should be that if the device will stop working in between of grantee period will they take the responsibility to replace that item, if they will then I think we should go for it otherwise avoid those sellers.

    4. how about Asus P8P67-PRO B3 motherboard and Asus ATI RADEON HD6970 gpu for intel i5 2500k?
I am planning to buy this next week.

      -Sid

    5. @Sid,

      Intel Core i5 2500k - Excellent
Asus ATI HD 6970 - Excellent, if u play at resolution higher than 2560, else go for Nvidia GTX 570

      Asus P8P67-PRO B3 - Excellent

      All great, go ahead

      ReplyDelete
    6. Many thanks Karthik!

      I dunno..
As of now my monitor supports 1920x1200 though I am planning to buy 32" lcd for gaming.
Do you think GTX570 will be good enough for that?

Also can you suggest some good sound card between 4000-5000rs?

      -Sid

      ReplyDelete
    7. @Sid, GTX 570 is almost equal to HD 6970 at lower resolutions, at higher resolution it is 5% slower, since HD 6970 has 2GB memory.

Check the max resolution of the Monitor, which u r planning and decide.

      Regarding Sound Card go for
Asus Xonar DX 7.1 Channel - Rs. 4500
      (or)
      Creative X-fi Xtreme Gamer - Rs. 4000

    38. raaj,

      buy samsung px2370 led monitor....

i5 2500 processor is enough for gaming and spend that extra money to buy more better graphic card...

      ReplyDelete
    39. Sorry but just to mention that ultra high end rig and without SSD?? A total fail :)

If the rig is concerned for gaming purpose only then i5-2500k is worth an investment, and if it is about more than just gaming like Phtoshop, 3D editing and stuffs that use more from threads then only go for i7.Its H.T(hyper threading) feature will then be justified.

Agreed with Graphic Arrangements :D Nice choice :)

Please update the blog. Z68 based mobos are out there in market. With more ssd cathing features. P67 is also good conditionally one is not using SSD's.

Investing on Corsair RAMs in my point of view is not good. They have much problems related to stabilty when OC'ed especially when it comes to 1366Mhz and 1866Mhz. I would have gone with Gskill RipJaws-X or Sniper :)

      ReplyDelete
    40. @^, I can accept ur other comments.

But reagrding SSD, I will not accept.
SSD is definitely faster than HDD. But it is not blazingly fast to say "ultra high end rig and without SSD?? A total fail"

I prefer more space and spend on good GPU and CPU. Instead of spending lot for a small amount of SSD. Personal choice aswell

    45. Hi Karthick,

I need a PC for Virtualisation, mostly for Educational purpose. so i found these Specs tell me what you think.

      Intel DQ67SW ( Mini Atx ) + Core i7 2600

      G.Skill8Gb * 4 = 32Gb

I am not able to confirm the 32Gb spec because Intel says " 32 GB maximum total system memory (with 4 Gb memory technology) in the Technical Product Specification of Dq67sw ".
What is that suppose to mean.

Are there any other Manufacturers (Asus, Gigabyte) giving better spec's for similar Motherboard as ATX with VPro Technology.

As i need these technologies :
Intel® Virtualization Technology for Directed IO
      Intel® Trusted Execution Technology
      Intel® vPro Technology
      Intel® Active Management Technology
      Intel® AMT Version
      Intel® Anti-Theft Technology

I will also buy Multi Port Gigabit Network Adapter like " PXG6i-PC - Six Port Copper Gigabit Ethernet PCI-X Server Adapter Intel® based ". So i need a Motherboard which has atleast 2 Pci Express.

      1. @^,

Intel vPro is a technology for Enterprises.
It is not just for Virtualization. It has more features for enterprise security, maintenance etc.

I am not sure how it will help you.
        Please check this Demo
        http://www.intel.com/business/business-pc/demo/demo.htm

        On your question :
        1) Intel Core i7 2600 has all the technology u asked
        2) Also the motherboard supports them

But vPro is not just hardware, it is a combination of processor, motherboard and other system softwares.

I am not an expert in vPro and Enterprise tecnologies.
        My suggestions

        1) Please check whether u need this or not?
        2) If so, contact some expert on this stream and decide.

    46. Hi Karthik,

I wanted this to run Esxi & explore all options for me. The Onboard Nic doesn't support Virtulaization so i have to get one that does. This is the Real Reason to get this.

Secondly what ever Intel says , Manageblity, Security, Remote assistance, Encryption are Marketing scoops... these are present in other boards.

My problem is i need extra space in that board equipped for Extra Nic and other thigs. Hope it works out.

Please suggest a graphic card that goes well with this Combo. I dont have any idea , is ddr3 or ddr5 which ever is compatible then which brand. How do i choose one.

Thanks Karthik. You have a Nice blog man.

      1. Graphics card is not of much importance for ur kind of work.

Better go for a medium card like AMD HD 6770.

To make sure the motherboard supports all the extra components u r going to add, just check the interfaces

        1) For graphics card - u need one PCI Ex x16
        2) For sound card and other network cards u need one PCI Ex x1 each.

Just check the count of these interfaces, before buying.

    48. ok . even though one's not overcloaking ever, its better to buy 2500k instead of 2500?? i bought 2500, but was it foolish not buying 2500k adding 500 rupees more?

      reviews told only 2 differences,
      1) u cant overcloak 2500
2 ) hd 3000 of 2500k vs hd 2000 of 2500. but since we buy a gpu, its not a problem
and all else are same, and moreover 2500 have some features that 2500k lacks!
BUT this benchmark below shows considerable performance difference. and 2500k (not OC) outperform 2500 !

      http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i5-2500+%40+3.30GHz

      how is this possible?!

This site collects data from users. (i.e) end users submits data by running the benchmark in their PC.

Different users will have a different setup like RAM, Motherboard and some might have overclocked it.

I would say buying a 2500K and not overclocking it is of no use.

psu = cooler master extreme power 550w(rs 4000) or iball sprinter 600w(rs 3000) i am bit confused
      cabinet=cooler master elite 371(rs 2200)
gpu=asus gtx 560 ti(rs 14450) they are telling that gtx 460 is not available as i previously opted for that

and the performance will come decreasing as the resolution increases...
but does the performance of the gpu is different for different screen sizes? ie 21.5 inch, 23 inch or 24 inch monitor if all of them
are using the same resoltution 1920x 1080 ??
does it make any difference in fps?

      1. Only resolution matters, not the size of the screen

      1. GTX 560 2GB doesnt make much difference in performance, better go for 1 GB card.

        1) 1 GB card is cheaper and enough for gaming
        2) GTX 560 Ti has more processing power than GTX 560
        3) 2 GB card is useful only in Photo and video editing jobs
